The 1st International Conference on Special Education 2015 (ICSE 2015) was held from 28th to 31st July 2015 at the Central Government Complex Hotel & Convention Centre, Bangkok, Thailand. The conference provided a unique opportunity for government, academic institutions and non-profit organizations in the area of Disability-Inclusive Education to discuss and exchange ideas. Participants included educators, researchers, postgraduate students, policy makers, stakeholders and communities from SEAMEO member countries as well as internationally. The conference sessions were in the forms of lectures, presentations and exhibitions focusing on Disability-Inclusive Education. Highlights included field-expert keynote speeches, plenary sessions, roundtable discussions and resolutions on important current issues in this region. This first conference featured the theme “Innovation to Enhance Learning and Practices” and was supported by nine (9) sub-themes. This included new methods in teaching and learning, development of assistive devices, ICT applied teaching gadget and use of cyber learning.
A total of 97 full papers and 12 posters were accepted by the reviewing committee and were published in this proceeding. The conference successfully recorded 1,750 attendees which included presenters and participants from over 30 countries.
